January 2012 Inaugural Address
Dear IHI Friends and Colleagues,
The turn of the new year marks yet another opportunity for each of us to reflect on how we will improve healthcare in our local community and beyond. Though the new year has brought about several new faces to our chapter, our mission remains the same: enriching positive change agents to achieve safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient and equitable care for our patients and community. The task won't be easy and will never be complete, but we strongly believe in our chapter's potential to produce real results: one project, one meeting, one conversation at a time.
Last year proved to be a tremendous growth year for us due to a dedicated and skilled leadership team alongside an engaged membership base. We welcomed improvement champions like Dr. Gene Nelson, participated in local improvement projects, sent members to share ideas at several national conferences and held our first successful fundraiser. We hope to build on this momentum in 2012 as we seek to grow our membership base and community partners, create new improvement projects, continue our fundraising efforts and welcome new speakers.
I invite each of you to take a fresh look at IHI San Antonio and think about how you want to contribute this year, opportunities abound! Our fantastic new website is a great place to start: http://ihisanantonio.weebly.com. Finally, I encourage you to write us at [email protected] or me personally at [email protected] with any questions, comments, ideas or concerns you may have.
Please stay tuned for information about our next chapter meeting in the coming weeks.
Regards,
Tom
