Clinical Safety & Effectiveness Course (CS&E) - University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio
The Center for Patient Safety & Health Policy at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio has brought together faculty, administrators, and staff from the School of Medicine, Dental School, and its hospital partners: University Hospital, Christus Santa Rosa Children's Hospital and the South Texas Veterans Health Care System, to improve patient care in San Antonio through the UT system wide Clinical Safety and Effectiveness course that concentrates on Quality Improvement and Patient Safety. It is modeled after Dr. Brent James´ Advanced Training Program at Intermountain Health Care, Utah. The course is eight days, eight hours/day over six months. It is project based and demonstrates use of quality concepts and tools. As of September 2011 the Center has proudly conferred diplomas to 123 participants.
